🐕Bull Terrier: gear and buying guides
The Bull Terrier, with its unique egg-shaped head, is a muscular dog of roughly 20 to 35 kg, clownish, stubborn and deeply attached to its people. Its extremely powerful jaws doom ordinary toys and demand near-indestructible gear. Its often pale skin and short coat need protection from both sun and cold.
Profile : Very muscular medium dog of about 45 to 55 cm and 20 to 35 kg, short often white coat, high energy in bursts.

Food
Greedy and quick to fill out, the Bull Terrier needs strictly weighed portions and a slow-feeder bowl if it gulps. Some individuals have food-related skin sensitivities: a sensitive-skin or single-protein diet can help, on veterinary advice.
-
🧴
Care & grooming
The short coat needs a weekly mitt brushing, but the skin, especially in white dogs, is sensitive: redness and allergies are common, and thinly haired areas sunburn. In summer, provide shade at peak hours and vet-approved sunscreen on the nose and ears if needed.
-
🎾
Toys & enrichment
Only ultra-tough solid rubber or nylon toys (15 to 30 € each) survive its jaws; remove any damaged toy to prevent pieces being swallowed. Scent and enrichment games also help prevent repetitive behaviours such as tail chasing, reported in the breed.

🏠
Bedding & habitat
Plan an M/L bed in very tough fabric, or even a metal-framed cot for chewers, with a blanket since this short-coated dog loves snuggling up warm. It is an indoor dog that copes poorly living outside.
-
🧳
Travel & safety
Powerful for its size, it is best handled with a sturdy Y-harness with a handle and a short lead in town; work on loose-lead walking early, as its pulling strength is surprising. In the car, a robust M/L crate is the safest choice.

🧰
Accessories
A lined coat is useful in winter for this chilly short-coated dog, and a lick mat or slow-feeder bowl slows down gulped meals. Unilaterally deaf dogs, found in white lines, benefit from visual-cue training and a long line outdoors.
