Active and slender, the Siamese burns a lot of energy: a protein-rich diet split into several small meals suits it well. Some individuals eat too fast out of excitement; a slow-feeder bowl solves this.

Its very short coat with no undercoat is the easiest to maintain: one pass with a grooming glove per week is enough. Sensitive to cold, it seeks warm spots; keep an eye on its thin, cold-sensitive ears.

The right carrier for a Siamese
A rigid carrier about 50 cm long for its 3 to 5 kg, with a top opening that proves invaluable at the vet’s. Leave it out permanently with a home-scented blanket: a familiar carrier halves departure stress.
In the car and beyond
The carrier rides strapped on the seat or wedged in the footwell, never loose — at 3 to 5 kg it becomes a projectile under braking. The Siamese will likely narrate the whole trip out loud: that is breed temperament, not distress per se. On trains the carrier is enough; flying cabin-side is possible under the airline’s weight limit (usually 8 kg including the bag).
Identification and everyday safety
Identification is mandatory (microchip), with an EU passport and rabies vaccination for border crossings. In flats, safety is decided at the windows: blocked tilt-and-turns and protection nets — cat falls are a veterinary-ER classic.
