Our methodology

This page explains how Planète Pets content is produced, where its figures come from and what we do when they are wrong. It is kept up to date whenever the method changes.

1. One database per species

Each of the 154 breed and species profiles relies on factual attributes entered once and reused everywhere: lifespan, adult weight or size, minimum cage, enclosure or terrarium dimensions, tank volume, temperatures, humidity, pH, health watchpoints and legal status (French dog categories, CITES, the EU regulation on invasive alien species). The “species × product family” pages are composed automatically from those attributes: they only show the figures of the species concerned.

2. Guides built on the database and on published studies

The guides are written from the database above and from published studies, with strict safeguards: no reference may be invented, no figure published without a source, no customer review or product test simulated. The oldest guides (July 2026) cited their studies through a Google Scholar search link; we are progressively replacing those with the study’s exact DOI link.

3. Reference guides

The 20 guides below, the most read on the site, were rewritten one by one: every cited study was located by its DOI (Crossref database), its abstract read, and what the text attributes to it appears there. Each shows its rewrite date and a “What we checked” section.

4. What we do not do

• We do not physically test the products our guides discuss, and we never claim otherwise.
• We publish no invented customer reviews, ratings or struck-through prices, including in our shop.
• We give no diagnosis and no dosage: for your animal’s health, the veterinarian is the only reference.

5. Dates and corrections

The date shown on a guide is the date its text last really changed, never the date of a technical redeploy. An error reported to admin@tech-bharat.com is fixed first, and the page date changes with it.
