Description
An aquatic turtle spends part of its day out of the water, dry under its lamp: that’s where it warms up and its shell dries. With nowhere accessible to climb out, it stays submerged all the time, and skin and shell problems lie in wait. For a young animal in a small tank, finding a foothold low enough to climb onto isn’t always easy.
This resin stump measures 14 × 12.5 × 6 cm. Its ridged top, imitating tree rings, gives claws a grip; it is hollow and open at the sides, so it also works as a hide for young turtles or fish sharing the tank. Resin doesn’t rust or rot and cleans with a brush.
6 cm high: for the top to stay above water and dry, set it in shallow water or raise it on pebbles. It is an islet for a young turtle; an adult needs a proper wide, stable basking area placed away from the edge to prevent escapes. The heat lamp and UVB remain essential above the dry area.
