Description
Aquatic turtles climb their basking rock and sometimes tip over the edge; some fish jump. This escape-proof kit closes the top of the tank without sealing it: a 100 × 90 cm mesh net you cut to the tank size, and 4 clear corner brackets that screw onto the glass corners to hold it taut.
The mesh lets air and UV-lamp light through, unlike a glass lid; you can also cut a feeding hatch. The brackets tighten with thumb screws, no tools or drilling. Weight 300 g.
Limits: heat and UVB lamps must stay above the net at the distance their maker recommends; a net too close to a heat lamp can warp. The brackets fit standard glass thicknesses; the maker’s sheet gives no maximum. The net does not replace a basking area placed well away from the edge.
