Description
You put the bowl down, turn around, and it’s empty. Then come the burps, sometimes hiccups or kibble brought back up on the kitchen floor. A dog that inhales its meal swallows a lot of air along with it, and in large deep-chested breeds gulping is among the risk factors cited for gastric dilatation-volvulus, a veterinary emergency (our slow-feeder guide sets out what is known and what isn’t).
This bowl breaks the rhythm without changing the diet: the base is covered with curved ridges laid out in a spiral. Your dog can no longer take a full mouthful; it has to nudge, work around and pick up kibble with its tongue. Mealtime becomes a small nose-and-patience exercise, which also helps dogs that get bored alone.
23 cm across, 5 cm high, 170 g, one-piece polypropylene with no removable parts where food gets stuck. It holds a small or medium dog’s ration; for a large dog, serve in two rounds or use two bowls. Some dogs get frustrated at first: stay nearby and leave a few easy pieces on top, most get the hang of it within a few meals.
Shipped from our supplier in 8 to 15 working days, free delivery on orders from €49, and 14 days to send it back if it doesn’t suit your dog.

Frequently asked questions
Will my dog manage to eat?
Yes: the ridges slow it down without blocking it. For the first meals, leave a few kibbles on top; most dogs work it out within days.
Is it useful for a dog that doesn’t eat fast?
Not really. It is mainly for dogs that finish their meal in seconds; a calm eater is fine with a regular bowl.
Does it work with wet food?
It is designed for kibble. Wet food spreads into the ridges and is harder to clean; a lick mat suits wet food better.
