In short: Large cat (4 to 9 kg), silky semi-long coat, low to moderate energy. A relaxed, highly tolerant cat that goes limp when carried and follows its human from room to room. Its floppy build and large frame call for a rigid XL carrier and a generous bed, at floor level rather than up high.

Fifteen minutes of hunting a day

Beneath its peaceful airs, the Ragdoll keeps its predator reflexes: give it a daily wand session closed with a genuinely rewarded “catch” — tone maintained, weight gain kept at bay.

Enriching the territory

Make its meals “work”: a puzzle feeder or kibble dispenser, plus ball circuits and catnip — all on weekly rotation, since a toy shelved for a fortnight becomes new again. At Ragdoll scale, kitten-sized toys do not last: pick sturdy wands and good-sized prey.

Boredom: enemy number one indoors
