Description
A frightened cat backs up and pulls its head in: in a thin-strapped H-harness it often slips out within seconds, and that’s when it bolts. For first outings on the balcony, in the garden or to the vet, a vest-style harness that covers the chest holds better.
This one wraps the chest in a lined suede panel, closes with a buckle and adjusts at the neck and belly straps. The reflective trims catch the light at dusk, and the metal ring on the back takes the 1.5 m leash, included.
Sizes by chest girth, just behind the front legs: S 25-29 cm (kitten, cat under 2 kg), M 33-39 cm (2 to 4 kg), L 38-44 cm (4 to 7.5 kg). A big Maine Coon will find it too small. No harness is escape-proof: adjust it so that just two fingers slide underneath, get the cat used to wearing it indoors for several days before going out, and never leave it tied up alone.

Frequently asked questions
How do I pick the size?
Measure the chest just behind the front legs with a soft tape. S: 25-29 cm, M: 33-39 cm, L: 38-44 cm. Between M and L (38-39 cm), take L for a stocky cat, M for a slim one.
Can my cat escape from it?
The vest is harder to back out of than an H-harness, but no harness is escape-proof. Adjust it so only two fingers fit underneath, check the straps before every outing and never leave the cat tied up unattended.
How do I get my cat used to it?
Put it on for a few minutes a day indoors with a treat or a game, lengthen gradually, then clip the leash on inside the house before the first outing. Our guide to harness outings explains the method.
