Description
An indoor cat sleeps a lot, but it needs short bursts of hunting. When nobody is around to wave a wand, a toy that moves by itself can take over for a few minutes.
This ball rolls by itself and bounces off obstacles, changing direction, which makes it unpredictable. Its silicone tail whips as it rolls, like fleeing prey. According to the maker, it crosses tiles, wooden floors and rugs, offers three modes (fast, slow, and a mode that only starts when the cat touches it), and goes to sleep after 5 minutes without play, then wakes when a paw touches it. It runs on a built-in battery.
It doesn’t replace playing with you: a cat eventually tires of a toy that is always available. Put it away after the session and bring it out another day. Clear hair from the wheels regularly, and put it away if the cat starts chewing the tail.

Frequently asked questions
Can I leave it with a cat alone all day?
It goes to sleep after 5 minutes without play and restarts when the cat touches it, so it doesn’t run constantly. For a cat left alone for long, alternate with other activities (snuffle mat, window perch) and don’t leave a chewer alone with the silicone tail.
Does it work on carpet?
The maker says it handles rugs, including deep-pile ones. On very thick carpet it moves more slowly.
Will my cat get bored of it?
Often, yes, as with any toy left out all the time. Put it away after each session and rotate with other toys: novelty brings the interest back.
