Description
Let’s be honest up front: in the Lidfors study (1997) covered in our guide, hay kept rabbits busy far more than gnawing sticks, and the sticks alone didn’t reduce abnormal behaviour. A chew toy is no miracle cure for boredom. It is still a good extra to vary textures and give something to shred that isn’t the rug.
This carrot is made of loofah, the dried fibre of a gourd that looks like a stiff sponge: your pet nibbles it, tears strips off and carries it around. A leafy top in plant fibre and a string let you hang it from the bars so it moves when pulled. It is about 20 cm long and weighs 26 g.
Suitable for rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and hamsters. A chew toy wears down: remove the string and remains when little is left. For a real effect on a rabbit’s boredom, keep fresh hay available at all times and move toys around regularly.
Delivered in 8 to 15 working days, 14-day returns, free delivery from €49.

Frequently asked questions
Can my rabbit swallow it?
It tears off pieces and chews them; loofah is a plant fibre. Supervise and remove the string when the toy is nearly gone.
Is it useful if my rabbit already has hay?
Yes for texture variety, but unlimited hay remains the essential, as the study in our guide shows.
