Description
Ten minutes of tug of war tires an energetic dog more surely than a slow walk, and builds the bond with whoever holds the other end. It’s the perfect game on a rainy day, when you get home late, or to redirect a young dog that nips at hands. You do need a toy made for it: an old sock or tea towel teaches the dog that household linen belongs to it.
This braided cotton rope has five tight knots, each a grip for your dog’s mouth or your hands. It is about 52 cm long and weighs 200 g, sized for medium to large dogs. Wash it in soapy water and air-dry.
Our guide is frank about it: rope shines for play together, but it frays. A dog chewing it alone can swallow fibres, and swallowed strands can cause an intestinal blockage. Put it away after the game, never leave it lying around, and bin it as soon as long threads hang loose. To keep a dog busy alone, a rubber toy is safer.
Ships in 8 to 15 working days, 14 days to return it, free delivery from €49.

Frequently asked questions
Can I leave it with my dog when I go out?
No. Rope frays and swallowed fibres are dangerous; it is a toy for playing together, put away after use.
Does tug make a dog aggressive?
Played with simple rules (the dog lets go on cue, the game stops if teeth touch a hand), it is actually good self-control practice.
