Description
During the moult, a medium-coated dog leaves tufts on the floor, your clothes and the car seat. Daily brushing solves it at the source, as long as the brush itself doesn’t become a chore: with a regular slicker you spend almost as long pulling hair out from between the pins as you do brushing the dog.
Here, a button on the back of the head retracts the pins, so the collected hair comes away in one clump over the bin. The stainless steel pins are fine and finished with a small bead that massages rather than scratches; they detangle the top coat and bring out hair that is ready to shed. The ergonomic handle stays comfortable through a long session.
19.3 × 7.7 × 4.9 cm, 141 g, engineering plastic and stainless steel, washable. The maker intends it for small and medium dogs. It doesn’t replace a dematting comb on an existing mat, nor an undercoat rake on a husky in full moult: it is the everyday brush you keep by the lead for five minutes after the walk.

Frequently asked questions
How does the self-cleaning work?
Press the button and the pins retract: the collected hair lifts off the surface in one piece.
Is it suitable for a large double-coated dog?
It helps day to day, but for a very dense undercoat in full moult a rake or dematting comb does the deep work better.
Do the pins scratch the skin?
The tips are rounded. Brush without pressing, with the lie of the coat, and stop if the skin reddens.
