Description
With guppies, platies or mollies, adults happily eat the fry, and a sick or injured fish needs to be set apart without changing water. This box hangs inside the tank, at the top of the glass: the isolated fish stays at the same temperature and in the same water as the main tank.
It has two compartments with clear lids with feeding holes, and a funnel floor that lets fry drop into the lower part, out of the female’s reach. According to the maker, an air-lift circuit (to connect to an air pump, not included) moves tank water through the box. Plastic, supplied in parts.
Limits: the maker does not publish exact dimensions (14 × 10 × 12 cm carton); it is a small space for a few days, not a long-term hospital or breeding tank. Clean it between uses and do not rely on it to contain a contagious disease without treating the main tank too if needed.

Do I need an air pump?
To move tank water through the box, yes, according to the maker. Without a pump it works for a few hours, but water exchange is poor.
How long can a fish stay in it?
A few days at most: space is limited. For long isolation or raising fry, a separate filtered tank is better.
