What Terrarium for a Green Anole: Size, Height and Setup
The green anole is a small, arboreal, day-active lizard: it climbs, watches and basks up high. Its terrarium must therefore be planned as a tall planted volume, not a plain floor-level box. A suitable setup governs its health, starting with lighting: the work of F. Dimensions planned for height
For one individual, aim for at least 45 × 45 × 60 cm (W × D × H), more for a pair or trio. Height matters more than floor area: the anole uses high branches to perch and thermoregulate. Create a hot spot around 30-32 °C under a lamp, a cool zone at 24-26 °C, and a night drop.
