Protecting cables and equipment from claws and teeth
Bundle cables into a sleeve and secure them out of reach: a bored cat will happily chew on a dangling wire. Scratch protection on the desk legs also keeps the furniture from becoming an improvised scratching post during your video calls.
Giving the cat a lookout spot — just not the keyboard
A wall-mounted cat tree or a shelf placed near the desk gives the cat a rewarding vantage point without needing to settle directly on your documents or laptop. A bed or cushion on a free corner of the desk also works well for cats mainly seeking your company.
