The Gouldian finch is one of the most colourful finches kept in captivity, but also one of the most sensitive to cold and drafts, a legacy of its tropical Australian origin. An aviary rather than a standard cage

The basic equipment to provide
- Supplemental heating: essential in an unheated indoor space, as this species tolerates low temperatures poorly.

No, except in a very mild climate with a sheltered aviary: below 15 °C, heating or bringing the birds indoors becomes necessary.
What is the minimum group size for a balanced flock?
Keeping a single bird alone is best avoided; a small group of three to four birds limits tension and encourages natural behaviour.
Is a nest box needed even without breeding plans?
