🐕Eurasier: gear and buying guides
The Eurasier is a medium-sized family spitz (18 to 32 kg), created from the Chow Chow, Wolfspitz and Samoyed, calm at home and deeply bonded to its family group. Reserved with strangers without being fearful, it copes poorly with kenneling and long periods alone. Its double coat needs regular but reasonable care.
Profile : Medium dog, 48 to 60 cm and 18 to 32 kg, medium-length double coat with ample undercoat, moderate energy.

🍖
Food
Expect around 250 to 350 g of kibble per day; naturally laid-back, it gains weight if the ration does not match actual activity. With the breed predisposed to hypothyroidism, weight tracking and regular vet checks are advised.
-
🧴
Care & grooming
Its medium-length coat with dense undercoat needs only one or two weekly sessions with a slicker and rake, daily during the two annual sheds. With little odor and natural cleanliness, it rarely needs a bath.
-
🎾
Toys & enrichment
Neither an intense athlete nor a frantic retriever, it enjoys varied walks, family hikes and quiet scent games. Standard size M occupation toys suffice: its family presence is what matters most.
-
🏠
Bedding & habitat
The quintessential family dog, it needs to sleep inside the house near its people: a size M/L bed in the living area suits it perfectly. Kennel or permanent outdoor life goes against the breed temperament.
-
🧳
Travel & safety
Generally calm in the car, it travels well in a size M/L crate or with a certified safety harness. Get it used to trips early to preserve that composure, as an Eurasier separated from its family copes poorly with boarding.
-
🧰
Accessories
A size M Y-harness and a 2 to 3 m leash cover the basics: this spitz recalls better than the nordic breeds, but a long line remains wise at first. Add a quality undercoat rake (15 to 30 euros) for shedding season.
