Species that get along in 60 litres
Small peaceful shoaling fish form the heart of a successful community: neon tetras, harlequin rasboras, guppies and platies thrive in groups. As long as they stay modest in size, a small shoal of corydoras brings the bottom of the tank to life without bullying anyone. The golden rule: keep shoaling fish in groups of at least six, because in insufficient numbers they get stressed and sometimes become shy or quarrelsome.
Cohabitation mistakes to avoid
Steer clear of territorial species or fish too large for 60 litres, as well as very fast swimmers that stress calm fish. Do not mix fish with opposite water needs, nor cold-water and tropical species.
