Description
In a first 60-litre tank, temperature is the figure to check every day: it tells you whether the heater is doing its job, whether the room cools down at night or the water gets too warm in summer. This digital thermometer sticks to the outside of the glass, with nothing to put in the tank, and shows the temperature permanently on an LCD screen.
The supplier states a range of -45 to 80 °C, ±1% accuracy and about one year of battery life. It measures 7 × 1.5 cm and weighs 15 g. It also fits a glass terrarium, to follow the temperature near the glass.
Honest limits: it reads the temperature through the glass, so that of the water (or air) against the pane, not in the middle of the tank or under a basking lamp. It must not be immersed. It does not measure humidity and does not control the heater: a tropical terrarium also needs a hygrometer, and a thermostat to regulate.

Where should I stick it on a tank?
On a side pane, away from the heater and the filter outlet, halfway up: you will read a representative temperature of the water against the glass.
Can it replace an immersed thermometer?
For daily monitoring, yes. To check a heater setting precisely, compare once with an immersed thermometer: a reading through the glass can differ by about one degree.
