Description
A rabbit or guinea pig in a cool room, a cat in an unheated porch, a dog that sleeps on tiles: in winter a warm spot they can choose to use is often enough to keep them comfortable.
This 45 × 45 cm (17.7 × 17.7 in) pad has a waterproof PVC cover that wipes clean, and a controller with two settings between 35 and 45 °C (95 and 113 °F). The power cord is wrapped in a steel coil to resist chewing, and the maker states that the US-plug adapter is UL listed. It reaches temperature in a few minutes.
Place it under a towel or bedding, on only part of the cage or bed, so your pet can move off it if it gets too warm. A steel-wrapped cord resists teeth, it is not indestructible: with rabbits and rodents, keep the cord out of the enclosure and unplug when you are away for long. Not for use in water or for reptiles, which need a thermostat-controlled heat source.
