Description
An air pump stirs the water surface and helps gas exchange; it is useful in a small tank without a filter, a quarantine or isolation tub, a transport bucket, or as a backup when the filter stops. This compact model (8.2 × 3.9 cm) runs from any USB port: USB mains adapter, computer or power bank, so it works away from the mains.
2 W, runs on 3 to 9 V. It comes with 1 m of tubing and a small air stone; a carabiner lets you hang it. The USB cable is 1 m long.
Limits: it has the output of a mini pump, suited to a small volume, not a large community tank. No USB mains adapter included. Place the pump above the water level or add a check valve to avoid back-siphoning in a power cut. No pump is silent: a slight hum is normal.
