Description
In the wild, a parrot spends much of its day searching for and shelling its food. In a cage, foraging recreates that activity: the bird digs, pulls and shreds to find what it is looking for. This toy suits that well: an 18 × 30 cm panel of woven palm leaf, with raffia strands, small rattan balls and coloured wooden pieces, plus a bell.
Hang it from the bars by its rope, and tuck treats or seeds between the strands for the bird to find. The supplier describes it as made of natural materials, for parrots; its size suits lovebirds, parakeets and small to medium parrots.
Good to know: it is a destructible toy, made to be shredded — it wears out, and that is the point. Remove it when only the rope is left or long threads hang loose, so the bird cannot get its feet caught. For a large parrot (macaw, cockatoo), it will not last long.
